Stars Speak To Man

Summary:

In "Stars Speak To Man," The Poet Abdul Ahad Azad Discusses The Callousness And Avarice Of A Man Who, Despite Being The Crown Of Creation, Chose The Path Of Destruction And Discredited The Entire Human Race. He Traded In Religion And Faith, Amassing The World's Wealth For Himself And Causing Chaos In The Name Of Religion And Patriotism. The Poet Questions Who Puts Double Standards In A Man's Heart, As He Cares Neither For Religion Nor Faith. The Poet Questions How A Man Can Expect To Move Forward In Life By Following Outdated Methods And How His Restlessness And Fantasies Can Lead To His Downfall. The Poet Urges The Man To Wake Up And Come Out Of The World Of Fantasies, As His Friends Are Heartbroken And Defected Due To His Callous Attitude. The Poem Highlights The Height Of Man's Callousness, As Seen In His Actions In His Garden And His Destructive Actions On Earth.

1) What Do The Stars Say To Man In The First Two Lines?

Ans. They Assert That While Man Has The Capacity For Moral Decision-Making From Birth, His Insensitivity Led Him To Choose The Path Of Fire, Dishonouring The Whole Human Race.

 2) Nature Had Fashioned You To Apportion Love And Affection But You Took To Buying And Selling Religion And Faith Instead. Explain These Lines.

Ans. The Man Traded In Religion And Faith, Giving Up His Conscience, Even Though He Was Made To Give And Receive Love And Affection.

 3) Why Is Man Described As A Serpent?

Ans. A Man Is Compared To A Serpent Because He Accumulates Money Entirely For Himself And Stops Others From Gaining Access To It.

 4) “That Which You Call Awakening Is A Stupefying Hangover”. Why?

Ans. Because Man Caused Disaster In The Name Of Religion And Patriotism—Which, The Stars Say, Is Simply Intoxication.

 5) Do You Think The Poem Is A Wake-Up Call? Explain.

Ans. Yes, It Is A Wake-Up Call Because It Exposes The Insensitivity And Carelessness Of A Man Who Has Caused Destruction On A Normally Beautiful Planet (Earth).
