RUSTAM AND SOHRAB
SUMMARY
Rustam, A Great Soldier Of Persia,
Was Known As The Shield Of Persia And Was Praised By King Kaikoos For His
Bravery. He Met Tartar Princess Tanimeh During A Trip And Married Her, But Was
Soon Called Back By The King. Before Leaving, Rustam Gave Tanimeh A Precious
Stone To Tie To Their Child's Arm When He Was Born. Tanimeh Gave Birth To A
Son, Sohrab, Who Learned The Use Of The Sword And Became A Skilled Warrior.
One Day, A Challenger Came To His Country And Challenged Sohrab To Single
Combat With A Condition To Tell Him About His Father. Sohrab Learned About His
Father, Rustam, And Returned Home, Persuading His Mother To Search For Him. She
Gave Him The Precious Stone With Which His Father Would Recognise Him. Sohrab Marched
To Persia With His Army, Wanting To Find His Father And Make Him The King Of Persia.
Kaikoos Sent His Army To Fight Sohrab, But They Were No Match For Him. He Promised
To Spare The Persian Army If Their Champion Fought With Him In A Single Battle.
The King Sent For Rustam, Who Initially Hesitated But Eventually Came
Disguised. When Sohrab Asked If He Was Rustam, He Didn't Reveal His Identity.
The Two Warriors Fought For Three Days, And Rustam Gave Out His War Cry, "Rustam,"
And Rushed At Sohrab. Sohrab Dropped His Shield, And Rustam's Sword Pierced His
Body. Sohrab Revealed His Identity By Showing His Father The Precious Stone He
Had Given Him. Rustam Felt Sad And Bitterly Wept, But Sohrab Comforted Him And
Asked Him To Carry His Body To His Home And Bury Him There.

Live With His Wife For A Long Time?
