Natipora, Nowgam,
Srinagar. 06:1
May 15. 1993

To

The Health Officer,
Srinagar Municipality,
Srinagar.

Sir,
We, the residents of Natipora want to draw your kind attention to the insanitary condition of our locality. The sanitary condition of our locality is very bad. The sweepers and water carriers are largely to blame for this. They are very careless and irregular. Heaps of rubbish remain lying about here and there. The drains are not properly cleaned. There is a lot of foul smell. They are full of pits. Dirty water collects
in these pits. The drains and pits serve as breeding placed for flies and mosquitoes. An
epidermic is likely to break out. We hope that necessary steps may please be taken as early as possible and save the residents from this discomfort.
                                         Yours faitihfully

                                         Aftab Gmedical

B.K. Pora

Tehsil Choodora.

25th Jan., 1993

To

The Director, Health Services..

Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir,

Srinagar,

Sir,

We, the residents of B.K. Pora, Choodora, lay the following few lines for your kind consideration. Ours is a very important village. Its present population is 14123. It has a  Post Office, Govt. and Private Bus Stand, Girls High School and Boys Higher Secondary School, besides, a B.D.O. Office. But there is no medical dispensary in or outside the village.

The poor villagers are put to a great trouble when somebody ill or needs First Aid.

The old building of the B.D.O's Office will suit the dispensary. It has a good accommodation. The whole building is cemented, rooms white washed and airy. Hope, that you will issue order for opening a dispensary.

                                     Yours faithfully,

                                      Haji Amir Zoo

9. Write a letter to the Superintendent Engineer complaining against

To,

The Superintendent Engineer,

Electric Power Supply,

Srinagar.

Sir,

We, the inhabitants of Zanidar Mohalla area, respectfully beg to invite your kind attention to the frequent breakdown of electricity in our area. This electric failure greatly affects our normal life both during the day as well as at night.

During the night when there is no electric light it becomes very difficult to walk through streets and by lanes. Thefts occur in the dark hours of the night. Our life and property, in fact, has become quite unsafe.

Such breakdowns adversely affect the student community who cannot attend to their studies. Besides, accidents occur as the passers, by find it very difficult to walk on the road when cars, buses and tongas run at night. We have already registered our complaints with the Assistant Electrical Engineer, Karan Nagar, but, unfortunately, no attention has been paid so far.

We, therefore, approach you with the request that you may kindly look into the matter so that speedy action is taken to minimise such frequent electric failure.

                                          Yours faithfully,

                                          Gulam Hassan,

                                         For the inhabitants of

Srinagar.

Dear Sir,

Respectfully I beg to say that on the 24th of January, 1990, I had to make some purchases from the market. I had my cycle with me. I entered the Apna Bazar for this purpose and kept my cycle outside duly locked. It took me about half an hour to make necessary purchases. I came out and found my cycle missing. I enquired of several persons but none could give me any clue. Mine is a Philips cycle and bears No.   947596.  It is a fresh one. It bears my name as Shujaat Ali inscribed on the handle. I hope these particulars will help you to trace it out. I, therefore, request you kindly to hold an enquiry into the matter and intimate to me as soon as you get any clue about it.

                                           Yours faithfully,
                                           Shujaat Ali.

24th May, 1993

To,

The Post Master,
Sri Ranbir Ganj,
Srinagar.

Sir,
I am sorry to inform you that my letters are not received by me properly and in time. The postman of my locality is careless and irregular. Sometimes he turns up at 11.30 A.M. and sometimes in the afternoon when there is no time to reply important and urgent letters.
Besides he never puts my letters in my letter box, but throws them through the windows or the door. At times he hands them over to children who tear them to pieces.
I have asked him many times to deliver the letters properly, but he never cares for it.
1, therefore, request you to instruct him to be more careful in future.

                                          Yours faithfully.
                                          Bashir Ahmad
