'Three questions'


WORKING WITH THE VEXT

Q. 1. What are the three questions?

Ans.(i) What is the right time to begin something?

(ii) Which people should one listen to ?

(iii) What is the most important thing to do?


Q. 2. Why did the king want to seek answers to the three questions?


Ans:- He thought he would never fail if he knew their answers,


Q.3. Why was the king advised to go to the magicians ?


Ans. The magicians could help the king to look into the future.


Q. 4. Was the king satisfied with the answers of the wise men ?


Ans. No, the king was not satisfied with their answers.


Q.5. How did the king and the hermit help the wounded man?


Ans. They washed and dressed his wound. They gave him water to drink.


Q. 6. Who was the bearded man ? Why did he ask for the king's forgiveness ?


Ans. The bearded man was the king's enemy. He had come to kill the king. But the king saved his life. So the bearded man asked the king to forgive him.


Q.7. How did the king show his forgiveness ?


Ans. The king promised to send his servants and his own doctor to look after the bearded man. Thus he showed his forgiveness.


Q. 8. What answers did the hermit give to the three questions?


Ans.(1) The most important time is ‘Now'.

(ii) The most important person is with whom we are at the moment.

(iii) The most important work is to do good to the person with whom we are.


Q. 9. Complete the following sentences by adding the appropriate parts of the sentences given in the box below:
