01. What are the titles given to Lal Ded?

Ans. The titles given to Lal Ded are : Lalla, Lal Arifa, Mai Lal Diddi, Lalleshwari, Lal Yogeshwari and 'Lalla the great.

Q. 2. Why did she leave her in-laws ?

Ans. Her married life was not so happy. That is why  she left her in-laws at  the age of twenty four. 

Q. 3. Where did she go and, what did she do?

Ans. She took sanyas(rejection from  the comforrs of world) . She gave up worldly things. She wanted to know about God and nature

Q. 4. What is a Vaak?

Ans. The 'vaak' is a short poem of four lines on a particular theme.

Q. 5. What are the features of Lal Ded's poetry

Ans. Her poetry teaches unity and harmony between all people. It describes the relationship between man and God. It teaches people not to run after worldly things and comforts. 

Q. 6. Who came under her influence

Ans. The famous kashmiri sufi saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din-Wali(RA) came under her influence. 

Q. 7. Who translated her poetry into English?

Ans. Richard Temple, Jiyalal Kaul, Coleman Barks, Jaishree Odin and Neerj Mattoo.

Grammar work

A.  Group of letters like-er, -al, -ful, able, -ing,-ly ,-ous,--ic ,-en ,etc
can be added to words, at the end, to change or modify their meaning , 
Such letter groups are called Suffixes. 

Now add suffixes to the words in brackets and fill in the banks with the same words:

3. It is very ( dread) ...... ....to use polythene

B. Group of letters like, ex-, en-, a-, dis-, il-, ir-, in-, re-, im- etc. can be added to words in the beginning to change or modify their meanings. Such a letter or letter groups are called Prefixes.

Now add prefixes to the words in brackets and fill in the blanks with the new words:
